When writing of the hope-full (literally) circumstances created for Rwanda after the Hutu-Tutsi shoa, he honestly believed in Kagame. Now, though, he is disappointed in the man. Ultimately, Rwanda's future lies with Rwandans, either Hutus or Tutsis, not in what Kinzer says or fails to say. For the record, in "A Thousand Hills..." he affirms that in reality the Tutsi/Hutu divide was artificially created by Belgian racism which favored the individuals who, in what was one single race, presented "more Caucasian traits". Stephen never sanctioned that divide, has never, ever discriminated Hutus. The truth is always more complex than a few words in a comment. Mr. Kinzer saluted Kagame initially for bringing to a halt a massacre wilfully ignored by the UN, France and Belgium and later, even through "community trials", the deadly rage between two segments of the same race. Of course, Kagame's autocratic turn caused consternations in many of his former admirers.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16857466037673356667noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1356835981446769721.post-55806649594458635172013-08-22T09:03:26.590-07:002013-08-22T09:03:26.590-07:00As a personal friend of Mr. Kinzer, albeit almost ...As a personal friend of Mr. Kinzer, albeit almost always by correspondence, I think I've gained an understanding of the man over the years. It takes time before societies perception changes, especially traumatic history that plagued Rwanda. A hands on approach is essential, not only for economic growth but most importantly to hold together the fragile social fabric.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1356835981446769721.post-7953651243307149862011-01-29T05:14:05.112-08:002011-01-29T05:14:05.112-08:00Hi, Nkunda,
