Here is a man with a tremendous love for humanity. A love that transcends boundaries of all kinds.
His name is Juan Carrero, a Spanish activist and former candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize. This humble man has been on the forefront of campaigning for an end to impunity, especially, in the Great Lakes region of Africa.
He believes that “truth is history’s most powerful force” and that it is the only way to nurture the victims of violence. So convinced and committed is brother Carrero that on February 24th, 1997, he held a 42 day fast in solidarity with victims of political violence in Congo and Rwanda.
He has written a poignant letter, appearing on the San Francisco Bay view newspaper. The article is available via this link for anyone interested.
