Rwanda's Collaboration with France brings a Flicker of Hope

French investigators are in Rwanda to carry out more investigations into the downing of president Habyarimana’s plane. As fellow blogger, Elly Akanga points out; Rwanda’s decision to allow the French investigators access is a hopeful sign. The French have a lot of information and their genuine collaboration with Rwanda could benefit the Truth and reconciliation process.
The potential result of these investigations is that one of the mystery-filled yet pivotal event could finally be put to rest. Also, the collaboration between French experts and the Rwandan government would be accepted as more credible than the much discredited Rwandan (read RPF) sponsored Mutsinzi report.
Also, the investigations will be used in French Anti-terrorist judge, Jean Brugier’s case against several indicted top leaders of the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF).
